We love to help aspiring authors at the Library! In addition to our book collection, we provide a variety of resources to help you in your artistic writing quest. Learn more about Inkie.org and NaNoWriMo below.

Inkie.org is a suite of self-publishing tools and resources. Through RAILS’ partnership with BiblioBoard, inkie.org is available to everyone in Illinois for free, without the need for a library card.

Inkie.org has three main audiences – authors, readers, and libraries.

National Novel Writing Month (or NaNoWriMo) is a month-long event in November in which people all over the world commit to writing a 50,000-word novel in 30 days. You can create a free account and track your progress on the NaNoWriMo website.  There's also a great, supportive group of people to cheer you on along your way. It's a great challenge, a ton of fun and a fantastic way to beat writer's block and get on the path to creating a complete work of fiction.
