Oxford African American Studies Center
The Oxford African American Studies Center is a carefully edited online reference work combining 8,000 articles from Africana, Encyclopedia of African American History, 1619 to the Present, Black Women in America, and African American National Biography. Under "Subscriber Login", look for the box that asks you to enter your Evergreen Park library card number.
The AASC was purchased with a grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services, a federal agency. The grant was facilitated by U.S. State Representative Bobby Rush, District 1.


Biography Resource Center Biography Resource Center contains biographical information on over 320,000 noteworthy figures, past and present. You can search information by the name, nationality, occupation, ethnicity, birth/death year, or birth/death place of the individual. A tabbed results screen lets you choose narrative biographies, thumbnail biographies, magazine articles, and even linked web sites about the subjects.

Textbook Collection The Evergreen Park Public Library has textbooks for grades 1-6 at District 124, Most Holy Redeemer, St. Bernadette and Queen of Martyr schools. The textbooks are for use in the library only, and may be photocopied for 10 cents per page.


Illinet Online Catalog Illinet Online is the shared catalog of the 45 member Illinois libraries belonging to the ILCSO (Illinois Computer Systems Organization) consortium. It currently contains over 9 million titles. If you attend one of the colleges or universities belonging to ILCSO , you have reciprocal borrowing privileges. Contact your educational institution for your library ID and PIN number. Otherwise, Evergreen Park cardholders can call the library at (708) 422-8522 to request a title. If it is available, delivery usually takes place within two weeks. There is no charge for this service.
